| The
Pacific Concert Group and ITP Records are proud to bring you the
hottest live concert series ever pressed to a glass master!! The
Super Slow Jam Live Concert Series Volumes 1 & 2 are now available
on CD, DVD and VHS with volume 3 coming soon. In what will go down
as a night that made musical history, eleven amazing artists (War,
Roger and Zapp, The Manhattans (featuring Gerald Alston and Blue
Lovett), The Delfonics, Gene Chandler, Deniece Williams, Barbara
Lewis, Sly Slick and Wicked, One Way, Bloodstone, and The Mad Lads
came together under one roof at the prestigious Universal Amphitheatre
in Universal City, CA on October 11, 1996.
VOLUME 1:
The Manhattans came out and had the crowd going crazy from the minute
they hit the stage and gave L.A. a first class performance on their
mega hit 'Shining Star'. Following Shinnig Star, they went into
an incredibly dramatic version of 'Kiss and Say Goodbye' with three
encores leaving the crowd screaming for more. (Wait until you see
this on DVD/VHS!)
Next, Gene Chandler entered the stage in a beautifully tailored
white suit and strutted across the stage with his sweeping, one
of a kind, 'steppin dance move' and dazzled the crowd with each
song and showed us all why he is the legendary "Duke Of Earl"!!!
His version of Rainbow gave everybody a lesson in how to 'bump and
grind'...Gene Chandler style!!!
Grammy award winner Deniece Williams, also known as the songbird
opened her set with an acapella version of God Is Amazing…and
it was truly amazing!! Bending notes and hitting octaves above and
beyond , Niecy mesmerized the crowd one song at a time, and sent
the women into a frenzy when she broke into SILLY! Then after getting
the crowd in a mood to dance with "Let's Hear It For the Boy",
she closed her set with a soulful and sensual version of her self
penned
hit "Free".
Last but not least, the 'Four Gents' or should I say THE DELFONICS,
hit the stage in bright red suits and went straight for your heart
with "La La Means I Love You" and had all of the love
birds hugging and kissing!!! William Hart hit those notes like it
was back in the 70's. They closed the set with "Didn't I Blow
You Mind(This Time)' and reminded us all what "Philly Soul
is all about!!
Also available,Volume 2: Bloodstone, Sly
Slick and Wicked, Barbara Lewis, The Mad Lads and One Way.
Each CD contains over one hour of music!!! ENJOY! |
